One of Sunshine Cottage's primary goals is to build a better relationship with the medical community. We have designed a program specifically for reaching physicians in and around San Antonio, Texas. Outreach is provided to educate the community on services provided at Sunshine Cottage's Newborn Hearing Evaluation Center and in our the Parent-Infant Program.

Professionals at hospitals and medical offices visit our facility and provided information that is helpful in the understanding of hearing impairment and what can be done to help a family and child.

The critical need to identify hearing loss, to appropriately amplify and to enroll the infant in an intervention program under six months of age is emphasized. 

Tours are given to anyone interested in gaining understanding and information about Sunshine Cottage and to observe the results of children learning to listen and talk.  Monthly tours include the pediatric residents of UTHSC arranged through the Village of Hope.
