Everyone at Sunshine Cottage expects children to use beautiful language and speak well not only in the classroom, but also in the lunchroom, hallways, on the playground, and at home. Our Speech-Language Pathology Department monitors each child's speech and language progress and helps staff, students, parents, and teachers create an environment that promotes good speech and language.

The Speech-Language Pathology Department has developed two instruments, Cottage Acquisitions Scales for Listening, Language and Speech (CASLLS)  and Speech That Works (STW),which help students with hearing loss acquire listening skills, speech, and language. Made available for the first time in the year 2000, these materials are used across the United States and abroad.
