 Parents
who suspect a hearing loss in their child may have him/her tested
at Sunshine Cottage using the school's state-of-the-art audiological
equipment. If hearing loss already has been diagnosed, the child
may apply for admission. The admission process, to determine academic
placement and tuition, involves the entire family as family participation
is critical to the student's ultimate success in the program. Many
families have relocated to San Antonio so their child could benefit
from the excellent program at Sunshine Cottage.
Students and
families have limitless access to Sunshine's vast resources from
the day they register until high school graduation. Sunshine Cottage
is continually described by former students and parents as a "safe
harbor." Indeed, the school provides a warm, supportive and happy
atmosphere that promotes learning, loving and eventually, leaving.
Sunshine Cottage is supported by tuition and private donations. A scholarship fund is available for those who require assistance. No child with hearing loss is turned away for inability to pay.
