Speech
That Works makes speech development more exciting for young children
with hearing losses while still providing short, repeated practice
sessions with a minimum of wasted time. Speech That Works also facilitates
the acquisition of speech skills in children with apraxia, dysartharia
and other motor speech difficulties. Children respond enthusiastically
to the colored pages which serve as reminders to them and the adults
working with them of the speech targets. You are sure to find many
useful pages for whether working with your own child, your class
or your caseload as a speech-language pathologist or auditory-verbal
therapist.
Speech That Works promotes communication between caregivers -
parents, teachers, speechlanguage pathologists, auditory-verbal
therapists, oral motor therapists. Each adult quickly sees the child's
speech targets and how well the child has done with others. Speech
That Works also is a means for documenting services and planning
lessons. With children who are just beginning a formal approach,
the program suggests activities using real toys.
